3/18/23 - Welcome Jess Jacobellis!
We are happy to announce Jess Jacobellis as the new head coach of the Lake Tranquility Thunderbolts! Swimming has been an integral part of Jess’s entire life. As a native of Lake Tranquility, Jess spent her summers swimming for the Thunderbolts from the time she was 4 years old until she graduated high school. Jess also taught swim lessons and lifeguarded at Lake Tranquility. Her passion for swimming grew as she got older. She swam competitively for the club team Jersey Gators for 11 years and swam for Montclair State’s swim team for 3 years. Jess was one of the assistant coaches of the Thunderbolts in high school and eventually became head coach for a total of 4 years into college. Her head coaching experience includes 2 years at White Meadow Lake, 5 years with Newton Sharks, and 12 years with the Newton Lenape Valley High School Swim Team. She has received many accolades during her coaching career, including being recognized as two-time NLV Coach of the Year. Jess has led her swimmers and teams to multiple county championships and state qualifiers for 10 years.
This summer, Jess will be focusing on teaching our Thunderbolts that swimming can be both competitive AND fun, while helping them achieve their personal goals! We are looking forward to a fantastic Thunderbolts swim team season!
